What? Did you just blow in from Stoopidtown? You have successfully moved into Top 10 stupidest posts on this forum. All time.
Black Sabbath have sold over 25 million albums in the U.S. and Ozzy has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide. You don't stay around in the music business because you suck.
Tony Iommi started heavy metal guitar. How many guitarists can actually say, "this type of music wasn't ever played until I played it."
Just because you don't like that style of music doesn't mean you should start bashing on it. Every time I start to think Heads are little more open-minded, some idiot like you pipes up and proves me wrong.
And have a little respect. Next time you type My Lord Jesus, you should capitalize it, you sacrilegious fuck.

Oh yeah!!! Talent and record sales have absolutely zero in common.
Here's a quick list of artist/bands that have sold 50 million albums or more worldwide.
The Beatles
Elvis
Frank Sinatra
Elton John
Led Zeppelin
Madonna
Queen
AC/DC
Aerosmith
The Beach Boys
Bob Dylan
Bruce Springsteen
Chicago
Creedence Clearwater Revival
David Bowie
Dire Straits
The Eagles
Fleetwood Mac
Genesis
Pink Floyd
Prince
The Rolling Stones
Stevie Wonder
U2
The Who
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Santana
Van Halen
Willie Nelson
Black Sabbath
Bob Marley
Jethro Tull
Ozzy Osbourne
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
The Police
Scorpions
Supertramp
And ZZ Top
You are right!!!! What a bunch of talentless fucks!!! I'm almost mad at myself for even liking such a bunch of worthless musicians.
Last time I checked, Black Sabbath was in the same Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as the Grateful Dead. Oh right, there's probably a bunch of lame-ass bands in there also.
Get a better argument or shut the fuck up!!!

Yes of course great and talented bands can sell but so does pop garbage, thus record sales do not equate with talent. Here some other talented artists by your criteria:

Britney Spears has sold over 70 million records.
Milli Vanilli sold 30 million singles and 14 million albums
William Hung of American Idol fame sold 30,000 copies of crap in one week.
A talented band, Chicago hit number 1 in 1976 with "If You Leave Me Now." They took over the number one slot from Rick Dees and his classic "Disco Duck"

Nothing is absolute. Nothing is either completely one way or completely the other.
I just gave you a list of when talent does equate record sales. It has been known to happen.

Example: Prince. Plays popular music loved by many.
He can play over 20 instruments. Pretty fucking talented.
Has sold over 100 million. Pretty fucking popular.

Talent does equal albums sold sometimes.

yes, and "elbow" wasn't saying it did not ... just to clarify of course; sure, Black Sabbath sold zillions of albums, are loved by many, worshiped at the altar of Rock, yada, yada, i get it; and you are their number one fan, good, i'm glad you found your niche ... but seriously, are you really that easily baited?

No, I'm just in a contrary mood. And when someone actually puts in writing such a stupid opinion as you did, I just felt like arguing with an idiot. Seems I succeeded in triplicate.

I still wish at least one of you would have come up with something resembling a decent argument.

You can't even defend a '94 show. LAME!!! LAME!!! LAME!!!
You act like you're too good to listen to 10-1-94!!!
What kind of pompous ass are you?

oh joe, you seem to miss the point of what elbow was saying, not surprising really, ha, ha ... he wasn't saying that artists/bands with mega-sales were not talented, rather, he _was_ saying that just because a band/artist has high volume sales, does not necessarily, and logically, annoint them with talent, that's all ... is that too difficult too figure out?

Perhaps your mother shouldn't have used a discount sperm bank. Then maybe you wouldn't have such a weak, narrow-minded opinion.

I'm just feeding it to you. "Need more be said?" You haven't said anything worthwhile yet. You're just a pathetic person trying to pass off a feeble opinion. Why don't you throw up a post about mental masturbation, at least you're an expert on that.

So, you listen to ONE Sabbath show and you think you have an opinion that has any merit?

If someone here posted about some lame ass '94 show and said it was the only time they had ever heard the Dead and they sucked big donkey dicks, what would you say to them? What would be your rebuttal?

Another round? So far you've only made an ill-informed statement and went straight to lying on your back.

Answer this.

seriously, i wouldn't reply since i've never given a GD '94 show a listen, which of course you would realize if this night, your first posts at LMA, had not awakened you from the mental slumber you have dwelled in all your life; glad to know i woke you up, lol!

So do you constantly spout off about things you have no clue about? Man, I was hoping for at least one good comeback from you. What a disappointment!!!! Something, anything that even remotely resembled wit or humor.
And thanks for waking me from my slumber of life, now I know exactly how your wife feels.
